I’ve never had tofu marinated in wine, but it looks brilliant. I love the color and of course, those grill marks!!

If you try a red wine marinade, use a drier red like a cabernet sauvignon. From experience, something sweeter will overpower.

I love the colour, but does it really smell and taste alcohol or just a wine scent? thanks, and I love you’r blog. I’m an italian vegan xxx

Betty, thanks for the kind words! The wine marinade (1 glass red wine, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, a few cloves of crushed garlic and spice) mostly just gives it a wine flavor, but doesn’t taste of alcohol. Though it does depend on how strong the wine you use is! I tried this recipe with a Shiraz, and it didn’t work as well.

Thanks for the idea.
I love tofu but sauteed in olive oil with garlic and chili powders gets a little repetitive.
…and just so happens I have a bottle of cab sav waiting to be popped open!
