To be honest, the Chocolate Chip Brownie Waffles from Veganomicon are more of a dessert than a breakfast. Especially when they’re served with bananas and ice cream.
But sometimes, desert for breakfast is just what’s needed.

I was grating some soap for laundry detergent and my food processor broke. I still can’t believe that I make my own laundry detergent, but there you go. It’s got a subtle lavender scent, and is so very eco-friendly. Ahem.
The food processor, in its defense, was very old, and hailing from Hamilton Beach, wasn’t a great device to start with. The power cord managed to strip the insulation off, so the cord was speckled with electrician’s tape. It died in the line of duty; it was its time to go. It was appropriate that the last bit of ungrated soap was sculpted into a soapy tombstone:

The replacement arrived yesterday. It’s, er, a bit more of a machine than its predecessor. And chrome. I am dying to chop things, just because I can. I’ll grate the soap by hand for a while, though. Just in case.

Surprise upon surprises, Ramblings of a Vegan Man has been selected as a winner in VegNews’ 2008 Veg Bloggy Awards! That means you can, in July, read a mention of this very site in print!
While I have suspicions that is part of a vast conspiracy to get me to post more frequently, I am truly honored. Hooray for vegan communitas!
This is pretty much a deconstructed cold roll served as a salad. Sesame-ginger tofu, sliced very thin and pan-fried, with rice noodles, carrots, and cucumbers served over green. Topped with fresh mint and peanut sauce. A perfect meal for a warm Spring day.
